electroacoustic ep1

by Chris Taylor

My Tribe! exclusive
1.
I live wherever I land Wherever I fall, I'm still in your hands And it's brilliant, baby, brilliant And sometimes sad. I live wherever I land Wherever I roam, baby that's where I am And it's brilliant, baby, brilliant And sometimes sad.

I heard a news report of a journalist in Mosul who was describing what was happening outside his window. It was a scary and surreal description and I found myself thinking... "What if this happened here in San Antonio and my wife was on the other side of town and I couldn't get to her?" This song was born... from the empathy of what the people of Mosul must be going through. lyrics Casualty of Love: V1 There's air strikes in the city There's music in the air There's smoke on the horizon I'm too shell-shocked to care CHORUS There's fighting in the streets Gun fire coming from above No matter how I go down I'll be a casualty of LOVE V2 The sky outside my window Has gone real blue They've been digging up the trenches And I cannot get to you CHORUS There's fighting in the streets Gun fire coming from above No matter how I go down I'll be a casualty of LOVE
3.
A part of you is stolen, you ran into the Soul Thief You don't dance the way you want to You gotta take back your energy Will the world ever stop turning To talk about Love? Baby let me see, your true identity I'm here with you... with an open heart & a warm hand We made it out alive, surviving a crash land Will the world ever stop turning To talk about Love? Baby let me see, your true identity I thought I heard you calling... I sank to the occasion Loneliness came rushing in... Like a heartbreak invasion Will the world ever stop turning To talk about Love? Baby let me see, your true identity
4.
It's all smoke and mirrors It's all smiles and lies It's all backroom deals It's all ego and pride Some people call them our leaders I call them the mob They know Armageddon Gonna do the job I used to know a woman Down in Tennessee She became a cancer To her family Damage attracts damage The fuse attracts the bomb She knows Armageddon Gonna do the job You go about your day Doing what it is you do Then you turn on the tv Bad news washes over you Profit over the people Profit over the planet The world's a spinning top And you know Armageddon Gonna do the job I know Armageddon Gonna do the job WE know Armageddon Gonna do the job Inspired by Allen Ginsberg "Hum Bom!"

Better 03:44
I don't know what I'd do without you Probably just enough to get me through I don't know what I'd wear Or even if I'd comb my hair I just know I'd be standing here alone Chorus: It's gonna get better, I really need it to Better for me, better for you It's gonna get better, I really need it to Better for me, better for you Ain't nothing to confess Gonna make me love you any less Call it devotion or something more It won't keep the tide from the shore I'm right here in front of you baby I'm at your back I'm by your side when the night turns black And at your darkest hour I will be your power When you are weak, I am strong I've been here all along Chorus: It's gonna get better, I really need it to Better for me, better for you It's gonna get better, I really need it to Better for me, better for you
