Why?

by Chris Taylor

My Tribe! exclusive

about

This is a stand alone single I just had to release today. The chaos of what's happening all around us in our own country is suffocating me. To gasp for air, I wrote this song. It's the most personal song I've ever written.

lyrics

Why?

Verse 1:
One day I’ll find the words and they’ll be simple and true to the soul
But for now this world has chewed me up and swallowed me whole
We dream high… we dream low
The rhythm of life come and go with the rhythm of flow

Chorus:
There’s a pain in my heart as I’m led by the light
About to explode though I cannot deny
What is calling me on? Is a prayer or sigh?
This world is full of dust and drag
Hatred sown in to the stripes of our flag
Civil war to cyber war
Why, why, why?

Verse 2:
I dedicate myself to my love and the madness of life
I own everything I’ve ever done and felt and witnessed inside
We dream high… we dream low
The rhythm of life come and go with the rhythm of flow

Chorus:
There’s a pain in my heart as I’m led by the light
About to explode though I cannot deny
What is calling me on? Is a prayer or sigh?
This world is full of dust and drag
Hatred sown in to the stripes of our flag
Civil war to cyber war
Why, why, why?

Solo

Chorus:
There’s a pain in my heart as I’m led by the light
About to explode though I cannot deny
What is calling me on? Is a prayer or sigh?
This world is full of dust and drag
Hatred sown in to the stripes of our flag
Civil war to cyber war
Why, why, why?

There’s a nightmare land in the back of my mind
Running in my sleep but still I can’t find
An answer anywhere in this nuclear sky
So I search without and I search within
My tears are drying on my sensitive skin
Fear and sadness, they’re built in

I remember a time when I was walking with Love
Hand in hand with the Morning Dove
Hours and days I could never get enough

Now I feel alone in this world
Footprints in the sand are blown and blurred
Politico are in control
Politico are in control
Politico are in control
Politico are in control
